C.I.As (formerly Data Teams) at Moanalua High School:
CIAs (formerly Data Teams):
- Are content specific, course-alike, or organizational teams that examine individual student work to drive instruction and examine the effectiveness of teaching and learning, leading to improved professional practice
- Most CIAs are content specific teams and a few organizational teams (e.g. counseling and tech).
- Use common priority standards, generate common formative assessment (CFA’s), and use common scoring guides to monitor and analyze student performance
- CIAs are in the process of finalizing their curriculum maps. CIAs should already have identified their power/priority standards.
- Priority standards should be limited to 10-12 for the year (about 3-4 each quarter).
- Maps are organic and are being edited/revised each year based on the needs of students, teachers, or curriculum.
- CIAs may adjust meeting dates and times based on the needs of each respective data teams. Please notify your respective administrator for any adjustments in your meetings.
- CIAs are in the process of finalizing their curriculum maps. CIAs should already have identified their power/priority standards.
- Have collaborative, structured, & scheduled meetings that focus on the effectiveness of teaching & learning
- This is where we determine as a team the instructional strategies that will have the most powerful impact on our students, and as a team, decide to implement it into our classrooms.
- We then determine whether or not that instructional strategy is working and/or how to improve its implementation.
Why the name change?
