Keynote Speakers:
Kelly Gallagher
Always in search of a better way, Kelly honed his craft by taking on leadership positions in several key literacy programs, including the California Reading and Literature Project, the South Basin Writing Project at California State University, Long Beach, and the Puente Project, a University of California outreach program that prepares under-represented high school students for transition into universities. For several years, he taught secondary literacy courses as an adjunct professor at California State University, Fullerton, and, most recently, he served as the president of the Secondary Reading Group of the International Reading Association (IRA). In 2005, Kelly received the Award for Classroom Excellence from the California Association of Teachers of English, the state’s highest honor for English teachers. In 2018, the California Association of Teachers of English presented Kelly with their Distinguished Service Award.
Inspired by his classroom and professional development experiences, Kelly has written numerous books for teachers, many of which are used in education schools around the world. |
Peter Liljedahl
He serves on the editorial boards of ESM, JMTE, MTL, FMEJ, MERJ, and CJSMTE and is a senior editor of IJSME. He has authored or co-authored 12 books, over 38 book chapters, 38 journal articles, and over 50 conference papers. Dr. Liljedahl is also a member of the executive of the British Columbia Mathematics Teachers Association (BCAMT) and former co-editor of their flagship journal, Vector. He is the recent recipinet of the Cmolik Prize for enhancement of public education in BC as well as the Margaret Sinclair Memorial Award for innovation and excellence in mathematics education.
Dr. Liljedahl is a former high school mathematics teacher who has kept his research interest and activities close to the classroom. He consults regularly with schools, school districts, and ministries of education on issues of teaching and learning, assessment, and numeracy. |

Keynote Speaker: AJ Juliani
AJ Juliani is the Founder/CEO of Adaptable Learning and serves as Faculty for the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (PLN).
Prior to his current role, AJ served as Head of Learning & Growth at NextLesson, Director of Learning and Innovation for Centennial School District, and Education and Technology Innovation Specialist for Upper Perkiomen School District. Previously AJ worked as a K-12 Staff Developer (Instructional Coach) in the Wissahickon School District where he also taught middle school and high school English/LA. Juliani's latest book, EMPOWER, is an education best-seller and follows up the award-winning LAUNCH on bringing design thinking into K-12 classrooms. Juliani's previous books include Learning By Choice and Inquiry and Innovation in the Classroom: Using 20% Time, Genius Hour, and PBL to Drive Student Success available from Routledge Press. Juliani now speaks at conferences, organizations, universities, schools, and events around the world on innovation in learning, teaching, and leadership. |
